I have mastered the art of tea meditation every morning, typically upon getting off my bed, after shower. The practice seems to be the reason for my happy and carefree lifestyle. No more headaches, allergies, cramps, loss of appetite and the common cold. But that’s not all!
The ritual of rock tea; boiling some water, brewing the semi-fermented leaves of the mystical rock tea and eventually sipping the infusions, does something that’s hard to achieve in real life. A beautiful practice and indeed a perfect complement to getting up early, tea meditation give me a little hiatus from the hustle and bustles to follow. You might liken it with a simple break for a quick espresso or anything, but it is my lifeline and a great way to fuel my mind. In fact there is no more sudden surge of alertness followed by abrupt tiresome, instead, it helps me to stay sharp for hours. The tea’s caffeine hitting my nostrils firstly makes me alert and aware of my responsibilities. Afterwards, the peaceful and serene feeling upon ending the nourishing practice cultivates a sense of gratitude, peace and lasting love. I guess such a feeling is the reason tea meditation traces its roots to ancient China some 1800 years. We all know that tea, perhaps Wuyi rock tea, used to be a medicinal drink, and indeed it is still a magical elixir today. Although it is a favorite drink, possibly the most consumed beverage on the planet today, it is how it befits someone who loves meditation that leaves me puzzled. The powerful aroma, its calming values and the fact that it suits our health need makes tea meditation worth trying. A 10-minute tea meditation worth trying out Certainly, an hour long meditation isn’t ideal for a start. Just ten minutes of paying attention, relaxing and taking your time will make your day lively and energized. To go my way, consider the following.
